Student Performance Enhancement by Cross-Course Project Assignments: A Case Study in Bioengineering and Process Modeling

Gülmur Birol, Ìnanç Birol, Ali Çinar

An initiative on a cross-course project assignment is tested in teaching bioengineering and process control courses.  A model study on glucose-insulin interactions in the human body was selected as the project topic. Students showed a high level of interest in such an activity and had the opportunity to use their knowledge and expertise in different fields while optimally allocating their limited time.
